After many years spent as scientific researchers at the University of Rome, William and Paola left the big city to settle in the green and quiet country of Umbria, among great oaks and olive trees.
There they could apply their former academic experience to the genealogical research, which was to become their primary area of interest.
Vailing theirselves of the central geografical position, they can easily reach the regions all around from coast to coast and are often entrusted with research tasks in even far places.
So, together with their daughter Serena, they set out periodical journeys to visit historical archives in big and small towns, all rich of precious documents dating back to the Middle Ages.
Searching through dusty papers and parish registers to find ancient records, rediscovering step by step the forgotten history of entire generations over the centuries, can prove to be like an exciting treasure hunt.
After returning home, every act previously collected, duly registered and photographed, will be the scientific basis for drawing and painting family trees and coat of arms, what is really the prize that crowns the work.
