My name is Francesco Russo and I was born in Milazzo on July 11, 1968 and I lived there for almost my entire life. Only recently, I moved few miles away to a small town called Cattafi, a hamlet of Pace del Mela.
After junior high, I attended high school in Messina specializing in Agricultural studies where I graduated in 1986.
I have been working for the last 12 years on a project sponsored by the Sicilian region and I am now part of the working team of the City hall of Milazzo.
I have been happily married for two and half years; my wife, Mariangela and I, we have just had a baby boy, Sergio, the greatest gift of my life.
My passions are gardening, reading but most of all, I am fond of antiques, of everything that is old; I have been collecting small antiques since I was very young and I love to document myself by reading specialized magazines.
My passion for genealogy came from my passion for history; names and surnames are meaningless to me unless I try to understand their history and their social environment.
Family history research became very important to me when I started to research my family tree; I was able to find all my ancestors (with birth/marriage/death information for each of them) from today's date back to 1638, the year my oldest ascendent came to Milazzo to get married. I couldn't find where he came from, but even if the research had to stop there I was able to dedicate this great achievement to Sergio, my son.
For those of you who dream of discovering the land of your Ancestors and plan to travel to Italy, Francesco can escort you and research your family together with you in the town of origin.
