The centre, called CENTRO STUDI STORICI "HISTRICANUM"
(HISTRICANUM Historic Studies Centre) was founded on 2nd June
1994. It is settled in Striano (NA). Its main interests are
historic searches about traditions, customs and history of the
towns situated in the Sarno valley. It organizes and manages
commemorations in honor of personages, exhibitions, conferences
about historic, cultural and folklore subjects. It makes genealogical
searches about Italian families, even if they are currently
staying abroad, and historical searches for Cities. It has a
rich archive and library with scientific, historic, and heraldic
texts, parchments and unpublished manuscripts, collections of
pictures of saints, photographs, slides and films.
All materials are available for students, scholars, and searchers.
The Centre also organizes guided trips with schools; it publishes
"Quaderni di Cultura Strianese" (Striano Culture Books).

A former army officer, Felice
Marciano was born on 7th February 1953 in Striano (NA) where
he lives with his wife Gina and his children Pasquale, Nestore
and Caterina. President of PRO-LOCO Striano in 1992-1994,
he writes for several magazines (PRESENZA, IL FOGLIO, IL
GRAFFIO); his main interests are poetry, music, folklore,
archaeology, and local history. He is a member of several
national and international cultural academies, such as La
Tiberina, La Guglielmo Marconi and Accademia delle Scienze,
all from Rome. He is the president of Centro Studi Storici
"HISTRICANUM" (HISTRICANUM Historic Studies Center).
He is the founder and member of the "Centro di Ricerche
e Studi Antropologici" (CreSA) (Center for Searches
and Anthropological Studies) in Sarno. He is mentioned in
many anthologies and national and international artistic
collections. He won the Zeus Prize in Rimini (1980) for
special merits. He has published many poem collections,
both in Italian and in Neapolitan dialect, and works on
local historiography and genealogy.
