I have been doing genealogy my whole life having had the nucleus of my family history passed on to me from my grandfather and father. After 29 years in personal management I gave up my job because I wanted to be free to dedicate 100% of my time to genealogy.

So far I have been able to collect over 1600 names in my family tree starting from 1300 up to today.

Till the end of 1800 my family lived in Gaeta, near Roma Italy. In the second half of 1800 a Giacomo Salemme (born in 1846) went to America (he settled in Tampick) with his wife Filippa Colozzi, we know they had some children and nothing else. I don't know whether he went to USA or Canada; I haven't succeeded in finding the true Tampick name yet.

Besides researching the traditional Italian genealogy sources, Town Halls, State Archives and Parishes, I am well acquainted with diverse sources of information that most people don't use such as records of notary acts, land records, foundling records, etc.

My passion for delving into my family history led me to help many people with an Italian descent especially in North America, Canada, Australia, Latin America, and Europe to research their roots in Italy. Being a POINT and PIE member for years, has helped me to meet hundreds of people who are so proud to be Italian and willing to learn more about their country of origin.
During the summer of 1999 I have spent two months traveling in the United States renewing acquaintances and making new ones. It was such an emotional and rewarding experience meeting the people for whom I had researched the family tree back to the 1600's; it was like I had known them for years. Their gratitude and affection is something that my wife and me will never forget.

Frank J. Ferrara:

My friend Giulio,

I hope that you are able to read my message. I do not know how sincerely I can express my thanks for all that you have done for me this past year. You have made
a very long search and as important dream of mine come true. I have a new feeling in my life of finally connecting with my Italian ancestors? Giulio, we here in America live an extremely fast life style, we don't stop and smell the roses as those in the small villages of Italy do. Yes, my beliefs are that money does not buy hapiness. Respect, admiration and genuine concern for people are far more important to me, and that is precisely what I found in tiny the village of Castellino.

Giulio did it again!!! He found my family over 100 living between 1760 to 1880. The biggest surprise was the priest who help him was a cousin I didn't know about I am so excited that I can't sleep I want to go and met them I will someday
Giulio, you are wonderfull

From: Isa and Bob Howard

Giulio, Isa and I do not know how to thank you sufficiently and appropriately for making this "miracle" possible. We thank you with all our hearts, and also appreciation is given on behalf of my many Puccini family members in the U.S. who are equally grateful. In my initial memorandum to U.S. family members I have stated at one point: "The Puccini family members of Diecimo and Lucca, Italy are Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!". It would have been appropriate to have added, which I overlooked at the moment, "And this includes a most wonderful gentleman, Giulio C. Salemme".

Our very best wishes to you and to Mrs. Salemme, and our strongest expression of appreciation.
