It is extremely difficult to price a genealogical research project given its uniqueness and its contingencies. You should take this estimate only FOR YOUR INFORMATION: it can be subject to adjustments according to the amount of research performed, the traveling distance, and the availability of the records.
Costs can be split in the following way:
1. Research Costs
- Number of hours dedicated to genealogical research; clients will be charged by the hour, which will be provided by the genealogist in the estimate (hourly charges can vary from a minimum of US $ 50 to a maximum of US $ 75);
- Administrative expenses such as the charges on each certificate debited from public sources, (there is NO standard charge), postal charges and all other costs related to photocopies, prints and phone calls will be charged to the client at cost;
2. Transportation and Accommodation costs (in the event the genealogist will travel to locations indicated by the client)
- Transportation costs: if traveling by car, there will be an amount of US $ 0.27 per mile that will include gasoline, parking, motorway tokens and amortization of the car.
- Accommodation costs: number of nights that the Consultant plans to spend in a hotel plus a daily allowance for meals.
Clients should allow an amount ranging from a minimum of $ 300 for 3 to 4 families to a maximum of $ 1,500 for five generations and twelve families.
